Auschwitz-Birkenau + Wieliczka Salt Mine

A carefully planned day combining a morning visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau with an afternoon guided tour of the UNESCO-listed Wieliczka Salt Mine.

Auschwitz-Birkenau + Wieliczka Salt Mine

Overview

The day normally begins with an early pickup and travel direct to Auschwitz-Birkenau. After your time at the Memorial we continue by private vehicle to Wieliczka, where you join the official underground route with a licensed mine guide.

What to expect

This option is ideal if you have limited days in southern Poland and want to see both a major WWII site and one of the region's most impressive heritage attractions. The contrast between the open, solemn spaces of Birkenau and the underground chapels and chambers of the salt mine makes for a varied but full day. Because of the length of the programme, we strongly recommend the packed-lunch option.

This is a hosted experience in a private vehicle – not a large coach tour. At memorials and museums you walk independently at your own pace, with a map and suggested route, while we handle timings, entry and logistics.
